The High National Election Commission (HNEC) of Libya has commenced third-level training for polling staff ahead of the second phase of municipal elections, according to a statement released on Saturday.
The training is being conducted under the supervision of HNEC’s Training and Procedures Department and targets poll workers who will manage voting stations across the country. The commission emphasized that this step is part of ongoing preparations to ensure a smooth and professional election process.
According to HNEC’s latest directive, the second round of municipal elections will take place in 63 municipalities, broken down regionally as follows:
41 municipalities in the western region,
13 municipalities in the eastern region,
9 municipalities in the southern region.
The exact date for the second phase has not yet been announced, but the commission says all logistical and technical measures are being put in place.
This training marks a continuation of HNEC’s broader electoral efforts to promote transparent and efficient local governance amid ongoing national dialogue on Libya’s political future.
