The winners of the second annual Gotham Week Honors have been revealed.
The U.S. Shorts to Features award, recognizing feature-length films based on shorts and proof of concepts, went to The Third Kind, written and directed by Alex Lora and executive produced by Erin McIntyre. Seoul Switch, written and directed by Liann Kaye and produced by Margaret Cho and Bobbi Luther, received a special mention.
The U.S. Features in Development honor went to Little Phnom Penh, written and directed by Chheangkea, produced by Karen Madar and executive produced by Ian Bricke. Homestalker, written and directed by Olivia Jampol, produced by Russ Posternak and Chadd Harbold, and executive produced by Mike Blizzard, received a special mention.
The Documentaries award went to Untitled Doctor Project, directed and produced by Poh Si Teng, produced by Kirsten Barfod and Reem Haddad, and executive produced by Simon Kilmurry. Kinfolk, directed by Nicole Craine, produced by Darcy McKinnon, and executive produced by Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst, received a special mention.
The Global Producer of the Year honor went to Ménaïc Raoul, producer of The Other, which was directed by Alexandre Franchi and written by Simon Lavoie. A special mention went to Sally Oh, producer of Paper Skin (directed by Christine Yuan).
In addition to these awards, this week’s Gotham Week honors recognized Derek Cianfrance, Laura Poitras, Kickstarter CEO Everette Taylor and Elegance Bratton and Chester Gordon’s Move Ya Body: The Birth of House documentary.
The Gotham Week honors ceremony took place at 26 Bridge in Brooklyn, New York after the close of this year’s invitation-only project market, connecting new fiction and documentary projects in development with industry executives via a meetings-driven forum.
Each of the Gotham Week Honors Project Market winners will receive prize packages of cash and in-kind services made possible by Gold House, Fox Archives, Kickstarter, Wrapbook, Greenlight Coverage, Decentralized Pictures and Soho House.
