Charlie Brooker is taking a break from his “Black Mirror” duties with Netflix to embark on something a little different at the streamer: a four-part detective series. For many, the adage that “with age comes experience” is seen as a roadblock, not only in the workplace but also with personal goals. Feeling Like an Imposter in the Ivy Tower Fergus White arrived at the University of Edinburgh at 16 and was often surrounded by peers who had grown up with privilege. “Being so young, I’ve felt that I have a need to push myself further,” White says. Are you gonna collaborate?Yeah. All right. What’s your favorite sandwich? That’s a tough one because I love all of them. I would say a New Jersey sub from this institution called Sorrento’s around Freehold. A Number 14, which is a combination, I believe, of like Number 7 and Number 12. [Eds. note: Sorrento’s menu says the Number 14 is a combo of a Number 5 and a Number 12 called the Pig Special.] So an Italian sub from a real New Jersey institution, and if not that, then a Wawa Club sandwich.I really appreciate how specific that was. Maggie O’Farrell’s lauded 2020 novel Hamnet is a dense and lyrical imagining of the lives of William Shakespeare’s family, full of interior thought and lush descriptions of the physical world. It would seem, upon reading, near impossible to adapt into a film. Or, at least, a film worthy of O’Farrell’s so finely woven sensory spell. Film-maker Chloé Zhao has attempted to do so anyway, and the result is a stately, occasionally lugubrious drama whose closing minutes are among the most poignant in recent memory.Zhao is a good fit for the material. She, too, is a close observer of nature and…
